Less than thirty-five

Less than thirty-five is a monthly news article (usually posted on the first Saturday of each month) featuring deviations that have fewer than 35 :+fav:’s and less than 10 original comments (at the time of writing). The aim is to hopefully help these underappreciated deviations, and in many cases the artists themselves, to gain more exposure and recognition.

Remind me!

:bulletpurple: If I have offered a prize of any sort for a contest, please remind me once the contest has ended! I have a really terrible memory. :XD:

AmazingStreetPaint has lots of great traditional pieces in their Gallery, but it's their 3D street paintings that really caught my eye!

(Literature)

The Gardens of OblivionVerdure stains on light filter to uncompressed earth,
fertilized by broken bones buried in their final berth
and mulch that sighs rhapsodic scents unto torrid, musty air
surrounded by plants so high, low and fair.
Gilded by humus, rainbow colours en-weathered
Untended by savagery yet still unwithered.
Boughs bow with untasted fruit
hoarding tastes of knowledge and thought so acute
bitter-sweet flavours ensconced in lively, liquid pulp
that man can not consume of such with only one gulp.
Removed from time, growth halts, no decay
touches and blemishes leaves left green and gay
Plants ripple their unchanging forms
untouched by swarms of insects, or storms
Perfect as they were once created
on the day that God's lust was sated
Cycadic dreams reminisce of this immemorial age
when man strode about this measureless stage
'fore his departure to diverse other pastures
filed with their own multitudinous disasters
Old Man in the EveningAnd he will sigh and speak no more
of burdens made of gossamer
and the thin tendrils of his thought.
For they are vapid as the wind
and move beyond the earth.
Travelling down the pre-lit paths,
the ghost trails of deadened stars.

murasakiriyu's thoughtful poems flow beautifully, with strong imagery.

Knock, knock

Sun Apr 12, 2015, 6:20 AM

Hello!

I've been putting off writing a 'comeback'-type journal for a while because I just didn't really know what to write. I still don't (ha), but I apologise for being such a terrible watcher and watchee (is that a word on dA? :paranoid:).

It's been a long time since I've been properly active on dA. I did try to come back a while ago, if I remember rightly, and I commented on a few things here and there.... then work got super-busy again and dA was again pushed to the side. These days I'm always busy with work (I guess that's kind of expected when the company one works for keeps expanding, gaining new business and new employees), but I'm going to try to check in on dA a bit more often. I miss talking to you all!

I've gained several new watchers over the last (almost-)year. To all my watchers, new and old, I'm sorry I haven't written anything or been (properly) on dA for a long time! ^^; I appreciate all who have stuck around (but I completely understand those who haven't :tighthug:). I'll be going on holiday with my family soon and I'm hoping that time to relax then will maybe help me to write again. :eager:

Steph ♥

P.S.. Good luck to everyone who is taking part in NaPoWriMo! :la:
