16 (who?)

A confession:

ma, there are seahorses dancing in the library

Autumn has come to my hometown.

Today; cool, clear and sunny--

April, a stuttering fool.

3am, and kings slumber;

Sunday falls heavy,

eyes wet with gasoline.

For :iconthetitlepage:'s Title Poem Contest

This was fun. A LOT of fun. Having not submitted anything to deviantART for over a year, this contest was a great way to get back into writing poetry! I do actually have some original poetry that has been floating around in my notebook for several months, and I'm hoping that it will soon make an appearance here. :la:

If you haven't already, check out this contest / check out #TheTitlePage!

Please check out these deviations - they're all rather lovely!

On a slightly related note, how does one submit to the 'Visual & Found Poetry' category? wouldn't let me, so I've categorised this as 'Free Verse'. :paranoid:

I'm not too sure the full stop after 'library' is well placed.. perhaps you could leave it open ended, but that could just be me.

I like how this feels quite disjointed, and yet there is a sense of flow with it all in terms of time placements.. you've mentioned the season, month, time.. and then the day, and.. yeah, for each, there is depth added to it all with a statement or so putting more context to things.

I think you've managed to say a lot in this piece even though it's not prose or anything like that. It's quite beautiful.

I actually like that idea a lot – it would kind of leave that line, with its bizarre nature, more open. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment! I really enjoyed finding titles to use for this poem.

Titles are interesting, I think. They can change a piece sometimes.

So, back to the actual poem. I love the idea of stringing together deviation titles, and I think you did a really great job with that! Keep it up!
