MouseholeI have been saving all your signatures,
everywhere you ever wrote your name -
tearing out the frontispieces of your old school books
and stealing your torn up voided cheques.
I have been breathing in your sweet slow scent
lingering in my old clothes lying lonely in the back
of my wardrobe,
yearning for you as they lie lifeless in my arms.
I seek and see your face on strangers.
I still reach for your comfort from dark dreams,
and still think of you in every sunrise sunset daylong waking moment.
But none of this, nor any deep wish else,
will bring you home to harbour in my heart.
your cardigan is tornbuying tickets, rip the stubs, hang them on the wall, scrapbook form complete with small pink hearts punched out of the children's cardboard.
gun powder paint, dripped on white mugs, heat-dried, upside down in cupboards that belonged to your grandmother, pour black coffee in the morning and sip.
t-r-i-b-u-l-a-t-i-o-n-s spelled in sign language, on the wall, across photos of sky, clouds raining, lightning flash, blind some farmer, smash some wheat, rip barns into pieces and set one half on top of 18333 sw 32 st.
salt the caramel, lick the spoon and put it in the dishwasher, contemplate the meaning of life, curse god three times because that's a lucky number, write the virgin mary's name thirty-six times across the tile backsplash, latin roots swimming through your head, you only took one year of it.
take wool yarn, knit socks for the kindergarden teacher, put out your cigarettes systematically down the arches, dye them pink, wrap the box in last year's christmas paper, drive four point
Draw your lines and paint a pictureA path of tears,
A path of stars
Who can draw the line?
Where the sinner,
Meets the pure,
And the demon meets divine,
Who can draw the line of slumber,
Broken by the hammer of number,
Feelings which have been undermined,
On the path of good and evil,
The question has caused much upheaval,
For we know the parts of the sequel,
But who can put a command on time?
For as we follow at desecration,
Follow or path maybe with recognition,
Thought we wish to achieve our life long mission,
Different to yours, and different to mine.
We must take that step,
To make sure we never forget,
And no mater what, and to not fret,
For we will be just fine.
Only we can draw our lines.

This may come as no surprise ...
... but I think it's pretty obvious that I am no longer really active on dA at all. Part of it is work - I'm usually a lot busier these days, and the thought of tackling my neglected inbox just doesn't appeal - and part of it is that other sites have just drawn my attention more now. And then there is also the fact that I'm not really writing any more either. The closest I came to it was being inspired to write a few fragments after reading Anthony Doerr's poetic and beautiful All the Light We Cannot See last year. Even if I do start writing again, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing my work here when I have not read or commented on other peo
